Circus camp

I had been promising that YES we will be doing camp this year!
It was a full on drive 4 hours round and a very hot day...but it was awesome!!!
DD9 really got into a few activities and both really enjoyed themselves in the wonderful welcoming atmosphere.
DD6 was really unsure about the man with the blue hair but it turned out pretty cool because he was teaching DD6's favourite subject the Diablo so he was mesmerised for a LONG time...despite the blue hair...Lol. Goodness me I must dig out some photos of his own mother with her hair.

This was a bit of a favourite subject too and DD9 could hardly wait her turn

Well unless it was a friend who is pretty darn good too
Lovely place to be with lovely people

My cheeky monkeys...eating a lunch that they assured me they didn't like before we left home...then eating my share of it too. Whats the old saying you need to put it in front of them so many times before they consider it. Well I suppose seaweed is a new thing.
DD6 was very tired as we normally have a bit of a nap after lunch...so the super friendly cafe circus team managed to direct the non coffee drinking me into a Chai Latte to keep me awake and offered DD6 heaps of cushions on the floor to sleep.

DD9 bunked down too until another little Home Ed friend turned up and they ran off together.

Totally loved it will be back again next year!!!

Our Pioneer Home 2

WOW!!!
Our Pioneer Home is about to become even more Pioneer!
Its a block of land
GULP!!!
The photos are a bit off as I've tried to get in as much as possible.

We have been dreaming and looking and tinkering with the idea for years and years. The idea to move south had been the plan for a long time. But each time we tried to look dream think, it just never seemed to work out. I personally do not want to be close to Auckland as I feel the tension from it...its so fast (I know other countries are faster). But there are many towns we looked at that are out of Auckland but still we just couldn't seem to bring it into the dream.

Some of our needs have grown with children but over all they have not changed. So this property needed to work with us on that.
Dave loves his job
I love my jobs
Kids love playing outside and learning and being with friends.
We all love the bush and being able to walk though it when we would like. Right from when DD9 was a baby I have loved this part of town and the access to the bush walks and would often pack her into her backpack and head off for a tramp/hike. Its really amazing that there is these huge areas of bush with walks in the middle of town.
And now we get to be a part of that....and have a little of that bush on our place too.

For years Dave and I have educated our selves and collected books on Eco living so now we'll be able to start putting some of these things into practice.
This is not going to be quick...we're going to take it slowww and enjoy the process.
For a few years we will straddle the two places getting to know the grounds and ways of the block...begin some plantings and shape some idea.

Re-vegetate has been our key here at our current home and will also be for this block.
Permaculture had been a dream of ours for as long as we've been dreaming together but we've really only just starting putting names to what we've been working towards. Food forests and food production.
Home Education will be a part of all these project for our children.
Its all about us

Rocks!

Wow the dirt pile has been the kids playground for ever....Daves got big ideas

So Dave had been sitting in his office all day working hard...then he comes out and says...'so what about 10 tone of rock to finish off the wall'
sound great i said
so by 4pm it was delivered and by 6pm Dave had already moved probably 1.5 tone into a wall.

There are some BIG ones in there but so far its all been good...we might have one which will be a team roll and that team might not include me but we'll see as Dad's going to drop of a bar aka super large nail as the kids have been calling it.
