At first we were stressed and deeply saddened.
Our children couldn't believe their ears and eyes.
Our big move into the city, into our Pioneer home has had to come to an end.
The council has re-zoned our property to living 1 which means it can be subdivided down to 500sq ...and that means the farms around us too....so the farmers are doing just that.
We would of potentially been looking over at 100 houses and that would be just what we can see not counting the road.
The christmas that was to be all about getting down and into the garden was all about finding a new home. I spent many sleepless nights crashing round on the net looking for sections. Each morning we would do school work then come lunch into the car and go to see what I could find at night.
A few days later we were SOoooooo lucky and came across this place.
We explored before Dave. I was not really sure as it was sooo over grown. A farmlet that has been let go for about 5 years. I couldn't see over the grass and the gorse.
Everything was there though. Private! Bush! Oh my goodness we will not have to plant. Flat space for us to have a lawn. Close to town.
I really feel like "little house big woods" reading about Mary having to move so many times and build up their house and garden only to move again.
We managed to bush bash all the way up the top...very steep climb with some amazing views.
Quickly we brought a new place and quickly we sold our old place.
We have been working hard every weekend getting the gorse and clearing a building site.
We were going to use Modern Earth Homes on our old cabin site...and I was quick to ask if they would be able to build on our new one. Yippy they can.
So barreling on.
The tank that came with the property needed to be moved into a better place - not seen as you come up the drive. Also the spring up the hill will be able to feed into it.
Dave also found an old septic under all the gorse...unfortunately it was put in under the radar so the council will need plans signed off and we can't do that...have to buy a new one argh.
But plans are speeding along and we're looking at a late September early October start to our final Pioneer Home.
