The baby rooster

Meet Rosie ...um we mean Rossie. He became DD9's beloved chicken and she was so sure it was a she...to the point it's still called Rose.

He's a lovely boy so tame and well behaved.

DD9 has mixed up a concoction of berries and water which she spoon feeds him...and he seems to enjoy.

He seems fine just purched here not wanting to run away.

This photo is right outside our old long drop and DD9 leanto hut she's built complete with shelving...no AAC or accident and emergency for this project thank goodness.

Ganglion on the wrist....again!

Ive had bad wrists for as long as I can remember. 

THE Pain!!

For me I can't seem to track down the cause. It just seems to come and go as it pleases.

I've found no reason for it so no cure either.

A few years ago while living in Havlock North I had a Ganglion come up in the back of my hand...and my amazing flat mate went ..."eeeck you need to see my mum, she's a bit of a witch but she'll sort that" so I was dragged off to see his mum.

She massaged it with a tiger balm like stuff then pressed an old sized 50c over top of it and bound it up tight with a bandage.

3 days later the lump was going down and no pain

Wonderful!

So I'll do the same tonight.

Reason for the apparence ... It's in the left hand and I can't think of anything again. 

Sigh.

Mother's Day

Morning walk

We often do a morning walk to work in with one of our 'lessons' and this morning I asked our next door neighbour if they wouldn't mind if we walked up their farm race.

Beautiful views here any weather.

We sat on the feance which had "the rot squad" (from magic school bus) in it we spent a while seeing the different bugs.

We talked about farming and who is supplied with the food grown there. How long it takes the grass to grow. The new planting the farmers have done in parts to work with water flow.

We talked about the early settlers that came from Scotland and how it would of looked when they arrived.

We talked about wildlife sanctuary on the islands we can see. We talked about fish sanctuarys up out at the Poor Knights.

Also out at the heads how there are Kiwi being released there to re-populate.

The weather was also a talking point about how it can be different in different areas.

Rain for May

After cleaning out the old tank we've had connected to the garage we've had to make do without any water over there.

Mr Griffin does not like the rain he's an outdoor cat most of the time.

But all good for us to fill up our tanks. I've been listening to the water fall in the tanks all night...the tanks are right behind out bedroom.

Health project

I've been wanting to do a health project for a long time. DD9 has been very accident prone over the last few months. Smashed teeth, cut thumb needing glue, cut to foot needing a lot of care and having to keep the foot elevated for a week or so.

Also we've really been looking at food intolerance and what is good for you. DS5 has taken himself off of dairy and I'm gluten free.

So we've started with a body shape outline and we'll go from there.

DD9 had to remember dei last Friday what she was wearing and get the right colours.

DS5 had to draw his own stick figure up the top.

Very grumpy with a cold...so not really into much today.

DD9 decided to draw her plate rather than find things in magazines to cut out.

Toadstool

The question was how fast does a toadstool grow?

DD9 came up with the idea of photographing them often/everyday to see the change

Creeper face

Ds5 is very into computers and loves his computer club...he's working on Gamestar mechanics here remotely  ... Getting excited and frustrated in one. It doesn't help that he's got a cold and temp and not thinking well...but suggest it's ok to leave class and have a sleep ..oh no!

We also got some post the other day so there was a bit of a fight over the box and what it was going to become.

DS5 won with his idea of a Creeper Face. This was the first time DS5 has ever googled anything on his own too. He opened up the computer and started sounding out the words...C R EEEE P ER ...got a little stuck on face but he managed it and chose his own picture to copy propped the computer up on the table and got out his own paints.

I know it looks like big nostrils but thats really where his eyes are
