Fishing for eels has been on ds5s list of things to do at granny and grandpas place.

Part of Oak meadows grade 4 is understanding your environment that you live. History of and the lay of the land it's structure.

So we've been taking walks.

Ds5 was totally floored when we came at our house from a different direction 

He did not feel it was his home.

Beach - feeding the birds

When we got to the beach the children observed a funny little "play".

Two birds stealing a mussel off of each other. They we're not impressed that the bird who was stolen off of didn't go get his mussel back.

So they found 'him' a new one...broke it open and feed it.

Now the bird is well fed.

Exploring

Ds5 watching water in sunlight...he related it back to the light show in the art gallery we went to.

Circle time

At first when I read through Oak Meadows ideas on circle time I was really not sure. 

Over the years I have noted a few things. 

Connection parenting - pam Leo 

Hold on to your kids  -

All talk about connection with our loved ones as the most important thing you can do. 

Morning connection can set up the day for a good time. Smiles, love, open ears, willingness to help.

All good things a parent needs.

I use this time to read poetry, and finger play, touch, positive interaction. Yoga, breathing, oak meadow exercises for the developing brain.

We aim for 15mins short 

Lammas day

Im going to try bang this bread. If DD8 can get enough courage to get some eggs off of Penguin chicken...lol might just have to brave it me self.

We'll also make normal mummy bread too to keep the masses happy

Lol I crashed and burned with no energy....so I only made "Lammas bread" as it's now called. No photos as once it came out of the oven we devoured it!!
Ds5 was a no go but that's not surprising as he's not keen on anything. We all loved it....great toasted!
